Mannheimia haemolytica (formerly known as Pasteurella haemolytica) vaccine for feedlot cattle, to be used in conjunction with attenuated infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) virus and bovine virus diarrhoea (BVD) viruses supplied in a separate smaller vial labelled clearly – Bovi-Tect III IBR/BVD component.  For optimum usage consult your veterinarian.

Storage

  • Store in a refrigerator at 2 ºC to 8 ºC. 
  • Do not freeze.
  • Protect from light.

Composition
Cell free supernatant of Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica biotype A serotype 1/17 leukotoxin and modified live IBR and BVD viruses.

Indications for use
The combination vaccine is to be used in feedlot cattle only.  It is indicated for the control of bovine respiratory diseases associated with Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica related pneumonia, IBRV and BVDV.  This vaccine is recommended for inclusion in a vaccination programme of feedlot cattle at processing.

Warnings

  • FOR USE IN FEEDLOT CATTLE ONLY.
  • For use in cattle from 3 months of age.
  • Destroy all vaccine containers after use.
  • Do not attempt to store partially used vaccine for later use.
  • Keep out of reach of children and uninformed persons.
  • Although this vaccine has been tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue for a wide range of reasons.  If this is suspected seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.

Directions for use
USE ONLY AS DIRECTED
Use sterile needles and syringes.  Where chemical sterilisation of needles and syringes is practised, rinse needles in clean sterile water to ensure that the modified live virus component is not destroyed by the disinfectant.
For the 100 mℓ pack size - draw up 2 to 3 mℓ of the Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica component from the large 100 mℓ bottle and inject into the smaller 7 mℓ glass vial containing the modified live viruses. 
Aspirate contents and transfer back into the large 100 mℓ bottle.
For the 10 mℓ pack size - draw up 2 to 3 mℓ of the Mannheimia (Pasteurella) haemolytica componenet from the 10 mℓ bottle and inject into the 7 mℓ glass vial containing the modified live viruses.
Aspirate contents and transfer back into the 10 mℓ bottle.
Inject 1 mℓ per animal subcutaneously using sterile precautions.
Ensure that the vaccine is kept cool.  Protect vaccine from direct sunlight while administering.
A booster vaccine is recommended after 10 – 14 days for an optimal immune response.

Dosage
1 mℓ of the combination vaccine per animal subcutaneously.

Presentation
A 10 mℓ or 100 mℓ polypropylene container with the Mannheimia haemolytica component and a 7 mℓ glass vial containing freeze-dried viruses.
