Indications

For the routine treatment of septic mastitis in lactating cows. The antibiotic combination is broad-spectrum in nature and active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria associated with mastitis. It is effective against Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, penicillin resistant and penicillin sensitive Staphylococcus spp., Arcanobacterium (Corynebacterium) pyogenes, Escherichia coli and other Gram-negative bacteria.

Composition
Semi-synthetic penicillins: Sodium Ampicillin BP 75 mg, Sodium Cloxacillin BP (per syringe) 200 mg.

Warnings

  • For lactating cows only.
  • Milk from treated cows coloured blue/green or apparently normal (i.e. including untreated quarters) must not be used for human consumption (or industrial purposes or be mixed with normal milk) within a minimum of 72 hours after the last treatment.
  • Allow 7 days between last application and slaughter for human consumption.
  • Avoid contact with this preparation as occasional allergic reactions may occur.
  • Keep out of reach of children, uninformed persons and animals.
  • It is advised that milk from treated quarters should be tested with the California milk cell test 72 hours after the last treatment to determine whether the somatic cell count has returned to normal levels before adding this milk to the bulk tank.
  • Although this remedy has been extensively tested under a large variety of conditions, failure thereof may ensue as a result of a wide range of reasons. If this is suspected, seek veterinary advice and notify the registration holder.

Directions for Use: Use only as directed.

The contents of one injector should be infused into each affected quarter via the teat canal immediately after milking and at 12 hour intervals for a total of three consecutive milkings.

Before infusion is made the teat should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

Care should be taken to avoid contamination of the tube nozzle after the cap has been removed.

Store in a cool place below 15 ºC.
