Use only as directed.

Vaccination Programme:

  • Sows and Gilts which have not been vaccinated with this product, should be given a primary, followed by a secondary vaccination. Interval between these vaccinations should be 6 weeks.
  • Re-vaccinations should be carried out between every two farrowings. Generally speaking this means every 5 to 6 months.
  • To enhance colostral protection of the piglets, sows and gilts should be vaccinated 3 to 4 weeks before farrowing.
  • All of the breeding stock present on a farm may be vaccinated at one time.
  • Un-vaccinated animals newly introduced to the herd should be vaccinated twice, with an interval of 6 weeks.

Dosage and Administration:

Sows and Gilts: 2 ml.  The vaccine should be administered intramuscularly by injection in the neck or in the area behind the ear.

Vaccination Reactions:

  • In animals vaccinated for the first time some mild transient clinical reactions may occur (slight fever, some decreased liveliness, for a maximum of 24 hours). For some weeks after vaccination a slight swelling may be felt at the site of vaccination. Local tissue reactions may occur.
  • The risk of abortion in sows is so small as to be negligible and is in any case no greater than with any other vaccination.
  • If sows are vaccinated within two weeks from farrowing the risks are the same as with any other injection in this period.

Presentation:

20 ml(10 doses) and 50 ml (25 doses) glass vials each packed in a cardboard box.
